SEASON TO ENLARGE YOUR BOUNDARIES (Sivan) By Chuck Pierce
SCRIPTURE OF THE WEEK: I CHRONICLES 4:10
Sivan is the third month in the Biblical year (15 May-13 June, 2018). Iyyar is a season of transition. This was when the Israelite’s journeyed from Egypt to Mount Sinai. It was a time of testing and healing and the revelation of God’s nature. Then in the third month the Israelites arrived at Mount Sinai and experienced a great outpouring of God’s Presence and Revelation.
Pentecost means ‘fiftieth’ thus it’s celebrated 50 days after Passover. It is the second great feast in God’s yearly cycle of life. Exodus 23:14-16, “Three times you shall keep a feast to Me in the year: You shall keep the Feast of Unleavened Bread (Passover)…the Feast of Harvest (Pentecost), the firstfruits of your labours which you have sown in the field; and the Feast of Ingathering (Tabernacles) at the end of the year, when you have gathered in the fruit of your labours from the field.”
These feasts are also called God’s ‘appointed times’ because they are times designated by God to meet with His people. It’s God’s desire to have us draw aside with Him and allow Him to accomplish some important things in our life that every year we’ll get a little bit closer to God than we were the year before.
It is a season for the release of New Provision in every area of life. The provision from the previous season would no longer sustain and take us through the next season. When the Israelites left Egypt and moved across the wilderness they began a whole New season. They needed a different kind of provision. They needed to understand God’s ways so they could walk with Him and experience His blessing. So at Pentecost, God called Moses up on Mount Sinai and gave him the Torah. So God gave them the provision of revelation
Then in Acts 2 the Church was born! It was the beginning of a New season! It was time to go into all the world with the Gospel but the disciples needed a new level of provision. The provision of the last season would not be enough and so at Pentecost God poured out His Spirit and released His miraculous gifts. So Pentecost is a time to celebrate God’s provision.
This is the season of receiving New Boundaries. At Mount Sinai, God began to set boundaries for His people. Boundaries help define your identity so this is a season to press into the new boundaries God is setting for you. It’s a time to let God bring you into a fresh manifestation of your identity as He redefines your boundaries. So ask God to expand your boundaries.
This is the season to pray and claim Jabez’s prayer in 1 Chronicles 4:10:
“Oh, that You would bless me indeed (provision), and enlarge my territory (boundaries & identity), that Your hand would be with me (protection), and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain (wisdom)!” So God granted him what he requested.
So stretch out your arms and receive the Lord’s provision and enlargement for the New season in your life and this nation!
