Acts of Grace YOU ARE A TESTIMONY

YOU ARE A TESTIMONY

SCRIPTURE OF THE WEEK: JOHN 17:20-21

“I do not pray for these alone [it is not for their sake only that I make this request], but also for [all] those who [will ever] believe and trust in Me through their message, that they all may be one; just as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be one in Us, so that the world may believe [without any doubt] that You sent Me.”

A Christian is one who follows Jesus Christ; one who lives and talks like Jesus Christ.  It is not mental data.  It means exhibiting Christ living in you.  So, if you have heard the message of Jesus Christ and if that message has transformed you, it is now your privilege to also become a messenger of Jesus Christ.  You are a Testimony!

In Acts 10, we read of a man called Cornelius.  Scripture tells us where he is from, his occupation and his name.  He is not introducing himself, but God knows him by name!  Beloved, I want you to know, God knows you by your name!  He knows everything about you.  There is nothing hidden from God!

Cornelius was a devout man and one who, along with his entire household, feared God.  This man is not of the household of faith and yet an angel of the Lord appeared to Cornelius to tell him his prayers and gifts of charity came as a memorial offering before God.  The lifestyle of Cornelius and his household became known in Heaven!

The angel of the Lord asked Cornelius to send his men to invite Peter to come to his house.  But here we see Peter, although he was a messenger of God, although his life had been changed, he thought the message of Jesus Christ was only for his community.  Peter considered himself of a different race, a different language, a different caste.  But the next morning when Peter went to the rooftop to pray, an angel of the Lord appeared to him and said, “What God has cleansed and pronounced clean, no longer consider common (unholy).” God begins to deal with Peter through a vision.  God says, who I have cleansed, you don’t call unclean.

God is a cleanser. God is a cleaner.  Bible tells us, Jesus Christ, God in flesh, shed His blood and with His blood He cleans you!  We need our lips, our ears and heart to be cleaned.  There are so many things in our life that need to be cleansed and only the Blood of Jesus can cleanse you!  This is the message the messenger brings!  The same God who sent a message through Jesus Christ wants to connect with you, He wants to complete what you are searching for.

Beloved, just like people in darkness are drawn to light, your life must be a Testimony; a light that draws people to you.  Are you carrying a light wherever you go?  All of us, by our lifestyle, we carry a message.  What is the message you carry?
