Acts of Grace March 12, 2017

March 12, 2017

The First Call was made when Jesus met with His disciples after they had just had a very bad experience of fishing. Peter and John were very rich, successful fishermen. They had boats, they had nets and they had people working for them. Peter was known as the ‘big fisherman’. It was in his DNA.

One particular day, they sent the boats out but they came back with no fish. Here he meets with failure. Luke 5 – ‘So it was, as the multitude pressed about Him to hear the word of God, that He stood by the Lake of Gennesaret, and He saw two boats standing by the lake; but the fishermen had gone from them and were washing their nets.”

Picture here is, Jesus is preaching and there is a crowd. In order to address the multitude of people gathered on the hills, Jesus needed to get out into the water to stand on a boat so that He could address the multitude of people as they gathered on the hills. In order to catch men, Jesus needs boats. In order to catch men, Jesus needs the nets. This is where He comes to partner with us. There are times in our lives when we do meet failure but God is saying to you today, ‘I need your empty boats and I need your broken nets.’ Beloved, don’t give up! because this disappointment can become a divine appointment!

When Jesus stopped speaking to the masses, He turned to Simon and said, well thank you, Simon. Now I want to bless you for letting Me use your boat. ‘“Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.” But Simon answered and said to Him, “Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless, at Your word I will let down the net.”’ The instruction is, ‘cast down your nets’ but Simon responded, ‘I will cast down one net.’ Many of us who have followed the Lord thus far, we have had many favours, blessings and grace from God. But now, the past few months, past few years, everything seems to have gone wrong. The boats are once again empty. Jesus doesn’t seem to be around. Our prayers seem to hit the ceiling and come back. It seems our joy is being diminished. The fun and the joy of reading God’s Word is gone. The pleasure we get in worship is gone. Our testimonies have become very silent. We are not active and excited like we were before. What has happened?

And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish and their net was breaking. So they signalled to their partners in the other boats to come and help them. And they came and the catch filled both boats and they began to sink.’ This is a miracle! For Simon and all who were with him were astonished at the catch of fish which they had taken.’ Beloved, when Jesus comes into your situation and when you begin to obey Him without question and doubt, then some great thing will happen in your life and you will be astonished God still can do the impossible with your broken nets and your empty boats. He can fill it again!

How many of you can recall the time when you heard the voice of the Lord, when you felt the touch of God and you experienced a miracle and you left all and you followed Him? So today, I’m challenging you again, God wants your broken nets and your empty boats and your disappointments! He did not see their failure and distanced Himself from them. He saw their failure and He came into the midst of their fears. Jesus does not run away from you because you are in trouble. He comes to you because you are in trouble. So beloved, all of us can share a testimony of how the Lord heard our cry, sought us, found us, changed us and He did something for us which we couldn’t do for ourselves.

This is the season where the great ‘end-time’ harvest begins again. Jesus is coming soon and He wants to partner with YOU! Will you lend Him your empty boats? Will you lend Him your broken nets?

When the Lord takes your empty boats, He will always return it full of fish!

Biblical Month of Adar 5777 – (26 Feb-27 Mar)

As the last month of the Biblical year, Adar represents completion of a season. Adar means “strength”. The Bible says, ‘let the weak say I am strong’. That means if you’re feeling weak, don’t wallow in it. Reach up and grab the strength of God and say, ‘I am NOT going to walk in weakness anymore! I am STRONG in Him! Amen!

Adar is a month for your true identity to be revealed. Learn who you are in the Lord. You need to know your spiritual gifts. Review and declare every prophetic word spoken over your life. Don’t try to be something you are not but begin moving forward toward your destiny in God!

The most important event in the month of Adar is the Feast of Purim. Purim is the story of a beautiful young Jewish woman named Esther. The story of Esther is one of the most significant events in Israel’s history. The whole future of God’s covenant plan rested on one girl! God had arranged a KAIROS moment in Esther’s life when she would go in before the King and plead for the lives of her people. That was her call, her destiny on the earth. “You have come into the Kingdom for such a time as this!”

Esther is all about choosing to embrace God’s chosen destiny for your life! Because Esther chose to follow God’s call on her life, the Jewish people were spared from destruction and God’s covenant plan moved forward in the earth. Esther’s story is important for YOU because you have a call of God on your life also!

Esther found herself in a battle! Satan did not want Esther to come into her destiny and rescue the Jewish people. That same thing is true for YOU! When you begin to move forward toward your destiny, Satan will resist. He makes Evil Decrees against you to steal, kill and destroy. His evil decrees are the lies he tells you and threats he makes. They are the fears he uses to try to paralyze you and hold you in bondage. ‘You will never succeed so don’t even try.’ ‘You will always be rejected.’ ‘You will always live in poverty.’ ‘You will always be sick.’ ‘You will die before your time.’ Have you heard satan say these words to you?

If you agree with the enemy’s decree, you are Defeated before you start. When you hear those voices in your mind, you need to know where they are coming from and you need to stand against them! The way to overthrow satan’s decree is to align with God’s decree over your life. Part of God’s decree is that He loves you and created you for a purpose! It includes the prophetic words and the promises God has made over your life! In I Timothy 1:18, Paul tells Timothy, “Timothy, my son, I am giving you this command in keeping with the prophecies once made about you, so that by recalling them you may fight the battle well.”

Satan always has a plan to oppose. He always has a decree for your destruction and there are always those like Haman to carry it out. There are seasons when the enemy seems to be winning. God’s Word for You – Don’t be fearful and anxious! Because God has a Decree also! Isaiah 46:9-10 and Jeremiah 29:11 – that’s God’s decree over you. Which decree will you align with?

Agree with God’s Decree! Embrace God’s prophetic destiny for your life! Press forward in faith and do battle with your prophetic words! That’s how you overcome the evil decrees.

Welcome to the month of Adar! It’s time to Reverse the Curse and TRIUMPH!!!
