ENGAGING THE HIGHER LIFE THAT IS IN CHRIST by Apostle Victor

SCRIPTURE OF THE WEEK: ROMANS 8:11

But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.’

There are different kinds of life; we have the animal life, the plant life and the human life.  But even within the human realm we have a higher life; the life that Christ possesses.

John 10:10 says that is the life Jesus has come to give us; the life that generates energy, overcomes depression.  The life that cannot be overcome by the influences of the enemy. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says if anyone is in Christ; it means that ‘Christ’ is a place.  That means the way you used to be is not the way you’re permitted to become now because you are in Christ!  You’re not just in Christ but Christ is in you!

It is not enough to know we have the life; we must engage the life!  Look at the illustration of a car.  Every car that is not moving is in ‘P’.  For the car to move, you must move the lever to ‘D’.  That means you must engage the gears to cause the shift.  If you don’t engage it, no matter how powerful the car is, it will not move.

1 John 4:17 says as He (Jesus) is, so are we in this world!  How is Jesus at this moment? Is He defeated? Does He feel depressed?  Is He sickly? No! The Scripture is talking about the glorified state of Jesus.  As Jesus is presently, so are we presently! This is a promise of Scripture! It is our practical reality.  When you engage it, that life enters into you. Suddenly it becomes your personalized reality. Things will begin to change!  There is a higher life!

Revelation is what changes you!  Philemon 1:6 says, ‘the expression of your faith may become relevant by the acknowledgement of every good thing that is in you by Christ Jesus’.  It says there are good things in you already!  That’s revelation but that’s not enough. You must engage it consciously!  You must learn to look at Scriptures and put yourself in the verses of the Bible.  When you personalize them you engage the life of Christ and that life cannot be overcome by the powers of the enemy.  No devil can resist Christ. The Bible says He has been given a Name that is above every name! That is the Name you have!  You have the Name of the Risen Saviour! The Name that Heaven obeys! The Name that the devil obeys! There is life in you! There is victory in you!  There is power in you!

You are only permitted to Become what you can Believe!  If you can’t believe what is written about you, you can never become it.  Every time you believe, you are being transformed. Everything you believe, you are being transformed into. To as many as believed in His Name, He has given the power, the authority to become the children; the sons and the daughters of God (John 1:12-14).  So you believe, then you become. Every time you don’t believe what is written concerning you, you are calling God a liar.

Here’s another mystery to help you understand why things sometimes seem as if they are slow and not happening the way it should.  Galatians 4:1-2 says we have an inheritance but we are no different from the slave or the unbeliever.  Until we have a revelation, until we capture the truth of Scriptures, we are no different from the others who don’t have it.

Yes, you have an inheritance but inheriting something and possessing something are two different things.  You can inherit and not possess. How do we possess it? By consciously engaging it! Everything you engage, moves.  I am emphasizing that because the issue with us is not the knowledge of the truth, but it is the ‘engagement’ of the truth!  Many of us have the truth. We know what the truth is but we never engage them. And if you do not engage them you are not permitted to become what the truth says.

Change your perception; your thinking!  Begin to think the way Christ thinks about you so that you may engage the life of Christ!
