SCRIPTURE OF THE WEEK: ISAIAH 43:19
“Listen carefully, I am about to do a new thing, Now it will spring forth; Will you not be aware of it? I will even put a road in the wilderness, Rivers in the desert.”
God designed this season to be the season to celebrate entering into the Promise. Certain things will be conceived in this season and God’s prophetic people can experience the Word before it manifests.
We read in the Book of Acts, the Church was birth on the day of Pentecost (Acts 2). Peter preached one message and 3,000 people got saved! The early Christians were known as children of God because they fasted and prayed together on a regular basis. It was while they were fasting and praying, God answered their prayers. The Scripture says, ‘the Lord kept adding to their number daily those who were being saved.’ (Acts 2:46-47)
Acts 1:14, ‘All these with one mind and one purpose were continually devoting themselves to prayer, [waiting together] along with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brothers.’ The multiplication was a result of waiting together in fasting and prayer – time of conception. At the appointed time, the first Church was birth!
There is a difference between being a ‘child of God’ and ‘a church-goer’. It’s time for us to examine if we are walking in fulfilment of God’s commands.
Ephesus was the 4th largest city and was famed for the Temple of Artemis (dedicated to the goddess of Diana), one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. The city was filled with pagan worship to the goddess of Diana. Sales of idols and other paraphernalia used for temple worship was big business. This was a city like many other cities all over the world but God had a plan for this city. He sent his apostle Paul and Paul went there very quietly. He rented a house and organised meetings daily with the people in the area. As he moved about to share the Gospel in other homes, more homes started to open up to hold meetings. In two years, the whole city was turned upside down. The temple business of selling idols and other paraphernalia went down because the people who ran the temple business weren’t making money from the devotees anymore because they were getting saved from idolatry! The city began to change because one man was willing to stand up and ‘be like’ Jesus Christ.
Beloved, Open your Homes to the Lord Jesus Christ. Where God has placed you, you have the power to change things! Open your Heart and let God your Maker Change you! Let Him birth something new in you!
2 Corinthians 5:17-18, “Therefore if anyone is in Christ [that is, grafted in, joined to Him by faith in Him as Savior], he is a new creature [reborn and renewed by the Holy Spirit]; the old things [the previous moral and spiritual condition] have passed away. Behold, new things have come [because spiritual awakening brings a new life]. But all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ [making us acceptable to Him] and gave us the ministry of reconciliation [so that by our example we might bring others to Him].”
