God’s Description Of Ecclesia
Ecclesia is the Church, which means ‘called out ones’. God called Israel out of Egypt. Likewise, He calls us out of the world. He calls us to be ‘separated, different, holy, called-up, set apart’ from the world so that we can reveal God’s purpose to the powers of the world and God’s wisdom for every situation (Ephesians 3:10). All the wisdom of God, all that we need in life, God has already deposited in His body which He calls the Church.
Think about it beloved, God has entrusted you and I with the salvation of this Nation! The Lord says in Genesis 11:6, ‘Indeed the people are one and they all have one language, and this is what they begin to do; now nothing that they propose to do will be withheld from them.’ Whenever men come together in agreement and make up their minds to do something, they can do it! So, can we reach this Nation? Can we reach the world? Can we live a holy life? Can you live an overcoming life? HalleluYah!
There are many shakings and upheavals today – political, environmental, financial etc. Why are these things taking place?
The second month of the Biblical calendar is called Iyyar (26 April – 25 May). The month of Iyyar falls between the great ‘month of redemption’ (Nissan – Passover) and the great ‘month of revelation’ (Sivan – Pentecost), and is therefore primarily commemorated as
a ‘month of spiritual transformation’ as represented by their journey from Egypt to Sinai.
After coming out of Egypt, God led Israel from the oasis and palm trees at Elim into the deeper part of the desert, a desolate region that was about midway to Sinai (Exodus 16:1). About this time, the food provision the people had brought with them ran out, and they began grumbling against Moses and Aaron, ‘“If only we had died by the LORD’s hand in Egypt! There we sat around pots of meat and ate all the food we wanted, but you have brought us out into this desert to starve this entire assembly to death.” Then the LORD said to Moses, “I will rain down bread from heaven for you. The people are to go out each day and gather enough for that day. In this way I will test them and see whether they will follow my instructions.”’ (Exodus 16:3- 4). On the sixth day the people received a double portion that was to last them through Sabbath, and the test centred on whether the people would refrain from seeking manna on God’s appointed day of rest.
John 16:33, ‘“I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” Beloved, in the midst of all the shaking, God is saying I have warned you of all these things but I will be with you, I will take you through it. So, through all these things happening, do not succumb to the pressures of the world! ‘Look up!’ Be secure in the victory of Christ!
